Another thought on getting some numbers for the value of your '90 SEC is to contact John Olsen at the SL Marketletter. email is office at slmarket.com and phone in Minneapolis is 612-377-0155. Besides SL's John also advertises other models and it is where I found my '87 SEC.

I'd be thrilled to get $4000.00 for my less than minty '91 but no luck so far and may just end up turning it in on trade just to be done with it all so can understand your frustration

You HAVE to get a professional appraisal. The insurance company will not believe anything else. I got double their initial offer for my '82 300D because of the appraisal. Use the yellow pages to find one in your area then ask what they know about a 126. It will likely cost you between $200 and $300 for the appraisal and will be worth every penny.

Hi All, I need some help please ASAP. I was clobbered in my '90 SEC last Thursday by a Toyota Tundra full size pick up. My car was nearly perfect with 94K miles. The other driver was 100% at fault and his insurance takes full liability on his part. The left side took the hit and sent me sideswiping a telephone pole.

Here is my problem. The insurance company has put a value of $7800 on the car. The car is repairable but it will be close to the $7800 and they may want to total the car. I want it repaired as it is mostly sheet metal damage. Can any or all of you provide me with recent sales of or advertisements of '90 or '91 SECs that can establish the true value of this fine car?

NADA Classic, Collectible Exotic etc places the value on an '89 for high value at $14,300 I'm not unreasonable but I can not imagine finding a '90 near perfect (in every respect) 94K mileage car for $7800. Pleas help me out and gather substantiation for me or suggest sources other than e bay or Hemmings to present to the insurance adjuster on Friday afternoon. Thank you

I agree with Mike. I had my ’83 380 appraised 4 months ago with 576 K on it.
It has new paint within the last 4 years.
New interior, rebuilt upper engine, transmission freshly done
The number was $ 14.500

I was really sorry to hear about Doug's mishap. Good thing he wasn't injured. The lesson to be learned here is to get your appraisal before your car is damaged or stolen. Then ask your insurance company to insure for theStated Value, not the Cash Value. It costs more but your car may be worth it.
