[W126 Coupe] For Sale

My daily drive is with the 1987 560SEC and my back up car is a 1984 300SD and I am a Realtor who does a lot of BPO and driving. The 560 SEC has about 165,000 miles and the 300 SD 290,000 miles, but both are driving as a train.

  I have a 1990 SEC with 110 K on it . Nice car, looks nice, drives fine, no issues, but if I were to price it , I would ask no more than $7500 and doubt I could expect to receive more than $5000 tops if it actually sold. I only drive it about ten thousand miles a year, so fuel costs are really not an issue either. The main issue with these cars is the cost of repairs when they are needed. The engine and drive train is quite good, but the suspension, accessories and ancillary equipment is no better than  Ford or Chevrolet. They look really cool, but are highly over rated. I use it on Saturday  for a run to a movie, but for a trip of one hundred miles or more, I use a Ford F-150 or a Jeep Commander. 
  They are much more comfortable, just less panache.

    I do agree with the first point that folks are curtailing non-essential spending. There are probably other reasons for the Coupes’ current low market prices as well.

    In today's economy and the gas prices at the pump I think you will have a hard time selling for that price even in a condition as you describe.
