[W126 Coupe] Swapping steering wheels

Does anybody have views on the pros and cons of changing out the stock  
steering wheel of a 1985 500 SEC for a newer and smaller diameter wheel of a 124  
series vehicle?
Does anyone have instructions for this possible swap?
After driving my '95 E320 wagon, it's feels like I'm using a steering wheel  
from a river barge when I drive my '85 500 SEC.
