Jay is funny!! Correct too, kinda. I used to live in Detroit and Cleveland -
cooler but REALLY sucks in the wintertime.
100 at 100 is normal. My two W126's would follow the exterior temperature -
if the outside was 90F, the engine was 90C, etc. In a Vegas summer - 105F
begat 105C on the engines. Then I put on dual electric fans in place of the
viscous clutch on the 560SEL (and a 140-amp alternator) and that engine
stays much closer to 80C and my AC doesn't start getting warm sitting at a
traffic light. But that's another story.
I took my radiator out (easy DIY) and down to the local radiator shop that
said they could disassemble/reassemble a Behr plastic tanked/aluminum
radiator. For $94, they rodded it out, flushed it, resealed it, and pressure
tested it. Works like new.
Later,
Mike in Las Vegas

Hi folks, I would like opinions please. On my '90 SEC my temp gauge is
hitting the 100 degree mark and a little above in this 100 degree F. heat in
Houston TX. traffic. Once I get rolling it drops back to just a little more
than the 80 degree mark. Everything seems to be up to snuff but It has been
recommended that the radiator be replaced.
1. Do you agree?
2. if so, is there a good source for a replacement radiator among this
group?
Thanks,
Doug in Houston
