It will be the sensor.. A used one is actually easier as you can snip the wire under the front bumper and rejoin the new sensor. Otherwise the wire goes all the way to the cabin.

Changing out the temp sensor would be your cheapest and best hope...
Otherwise it's the module/display in the dash which is Pricey.
