[W126 Coupe] MBCOUPES Digest, Vol 60, Issue 33

I don't know it for a fact but I believe that the 87 560 SEC did not come with back seat headrests. I have had my 87 560 SEC since 93 and have noticed most if not all 560 SEC's, assuming that all of those w/o the back seat headrests to be 87's.

PS: Not a big issue but does anyone know of a specialty tool to tighten the AC belt; I modified a 10 mm Allen wrench to squeeze in-between the pulley and the adjustment arm bolt to tighten the belt but there has got to be a better way of doing this.

Good Morning,
I bought an 87' 560SEC recently and for some reason it does not have the bilateral rear seat headrest.
The seller owned it for 15yrs and he has no idea about it. It is the first I have seen like this. No holes or anything that would indicate they were once there. They seem to be the original seats. Not rebuilt. It is not a gray market car. It was built in 06-87.
Any ideas??
Thanks

Hope I have not made anyone mad by changing the subject. While driving I hear
something that raddles when I hit a bumb. Also my passenger door no longer locks
when driver, fuel & trunk locks figured that the vaccum line has either broke or
has slip off connector. Any help for a safe undamaging method to removed the
panel would be great. My car is a 1984 380 SEC EURO. Thanks for this great group
and help. Regards, Cecil Elliott

Hey Jason,
I have AAA (and AAA roadside assistance which is required for the policy).
$612.00 usd a year for mid level liability and comprehensive with a $250.00
deductible. This is a muliti vehicle policy (a Harley, a Miata, and an SUV) with
no collision on the 500 SEC living in southern California with no points on my
record. My reported miliage for the Mercedes is 8,000 miles per year which will
be even lower once my renewal comes up.
Cheers,
Greg

I was wondering who who guys are using for insurance? I have a 560sel and well
the rates on this thing are in left field. Its not a daily driver so Id say
less that 8000 miles a year now :( Any suggestions on who to call that wont
charge an arm and a leg? I have a spotless driving record and for what they
charge me, they should be ashamed of themselves.
Thanks,
Jason

Thanks Markus as always you're great with the advise, I do have some service
CD's, by chance do you suggest a site for additional service CD's? The ones I
got from a fella on ebay. Regards, Cecil Elliott

Hi Cecil,
Do you have the service CDs? They have the instructions. I'd write them up but
will probably miss a step or two. One big word of advice is once you get
everything off and loose, be very careful pulling the panel up so you don't
break the plastic tabs that keep the panel in place at the top.
