Hi Markus- thanks for your reply. The parts shop (Performace Products part no 27-004K) price is for the "tarnsmission filter kit" that inclues filter and gasket

Thanks,
Camran

I am getting ready to do a 30K maintenance routine on my 90 560SEC (70K miles total miles) and had a couple of questions.
1- the transmission filter kit at my parts shop is $17.99 and the dealer says $85. Is there a difference? -> is the parts shop giving you just the filter or also the gasket?
2- Is dextron III the right fluid for the tranie? -> I believe so. I use Amsoil synthetic ATF that is compatible.
3- Should I bother changing the differential fluid also? -> I would if it were me. Make sure to remove the fill plug FIRST though, just in case its so tight you can't get it off. Because if you take out the drain plug first and then can't take out the fill, you are stuck with a tow (or wrecked diff if you drive it empty somewhere like someone I know)
4- I am flushing the brake lines and changing the coolant. I am getting those fluids from the dealer.
Thanks,
