[W126 Coupe] start-up and gas tank question

Hi Jonathan
I sent another email out but I wanted to respond to your email too. I thought I had solved the stalling problem but it turns out I did not. If I step on the gas pedal it Occasionally hesitates to the point of stalling out. It doesn't matter if the engine is cold or warm and it is purely random. Injectors are original, heads were done last year when I had the valve seals done, wires and plugs were done yesterday (rotor and cap cleaned as they were in good shape), I don't think he ohm'd out the temp sensors, cold start valve is not working. Would a non-working cold start valve explain stalling when warm? Would it cause car to idle roughly when warm?

Thanks and Happy Holidays
Tom

Does stepping on the gas pedal help when starting?

When were injectors done? Heads? Tune Up? O2? Did you ohm out temp sensors? Verify the cold start valve is working?

LOTS of tests to do before R&R'ing that tank:)

Earlier this week I solved my stalling problem on acceleration when I found a leak in a vacuum line. So that is cured. But when I first start the car, it is a really hard start: a bit more cranking and then as it starts it has a hard shutter, as if a motor mounts is going. Once it turns over, all is well. Any ideas on what this might be?

Also, the car has 205k on it. Is there any benefit to actually draining the gas tank to remove any crud that has probably accumulated over the last 20 years?
