[W126 Coupe] Michelin Pilot Sport PS2

I disagree. I used to run my SEC up to 110 on Pirellis and Dunlops for
extended runs and maintained over 150 for quite awhile as well. On my SLK,
Ive run harder and longer without issue.
It would make a big difference on a drive to Vegas, 300 miles trip goes
from nearly 5 hour trip to under 3 (which is faster than boarding a plane,
clearing security, flight, and then waiting for hotel to pickup). This is
all hypothetical of course
On a racetrack, I would comfortably push my cars MUCH faster (done over 170
mph in my SLK).
Regards,
Eddie

Just an observation,
been there, done that
I do not trust any commercial tire cruising above 85 mph for a prolonged
period of time, (or a car for that matter)
If I want to or need to travel at a faster speed, I use a plane.
Too many variables on and near the road, unless you are driving from
Amarillo to Tucumcari.
May sound great to say "I did 115, etc.," but the reality is does not pay.
Race cars are completely taken down a rebuilt after each race, with most
receiving a new motor, not rebuilding the old one.
TIres are changed frequently during a race
keep cruisin

as for ride, my 1978 Mercury Colony Park cruises at 85 mph. much smoother
with no noise and less effort than than my
1990 SEC is more comfortable can carry a lot more cargo and is much
easier and cheaper maintain
That is why race tracks exist.

Interesting, I find the ride is Just as smooth and comfortable on all but
the Worst of highways. The first thing that impressed me most RE the PS2
was how eerily smooth the ride was.. Trish would normally start to get on
my case around 85-90...We were cruising 110-115 and she didn't make a
peep...:)
My biggest dislike on the large side wall is under initial turn in, you have
to give it that bit of time to settle in to the lean/make allowances for it
as you approach the apex, and on throttle out you'll get a bit more wiggle
yet.
Another added benefit is you can do full throttle launches and actually get
traction on modified SEC's..still a little touchy on those hairpin exits
though;-)

560 SEC rides best with 225/60 x 16 Michelin MXV4 Primacy. Great traction,

Ånything less than a 60 series give a harsh ride, to me anyway. I care about
cruisin at 80 mph not hairpin or S curves

My experience is the same as Jay's.
