[W126 Coupe] Stubborn fan

Isn't that the way it is supposed to work?
 
Do you have the automatic climate control with the push-button panel, or the manual one with the twin dials?
 
On my ACC the only way to turn the fan completely off is to press the "0" button. In either economy mode or with the AC on, the fan will be on at some speed.Regards, Axel J. Wulff610-731-5453 Cellular610-572-4611 Home

Hi Group,
 
My A/C/heater blower fan never stops running. It functions perfectly well when the A/C or heater is on. The trouble is when the heating/cooling is stopped, because the blower keeps running at the slowest speed. My mechanic says the regulator is faulty which I prefer to leave as a final option because of its price. Any suggestions?
