Hi Everybody,

Questions to the wise and knowledgable! - or can you point me in the right direction as to where i can get the following info....

I understand that factory spec'd AMG SEC's have different chassis numbers from the standard production line cars...what are the numbers/letters i'm looking for to say that it is genuine?

Is it only with the wide bodied versions or does it apply to other AMG spec'd SEC's?

Was it a case of when buying new you could specify your standard production car with a body kit, steering wheel, interior, etc, etc at the dealership? All of my brochures that i got from the dealerships and a visit to the mercedes museum when i was a school boy do not give me an insight to this.

I'm asking as there has been a growing number of widebody and standard bodied 'AMG spec'd' cars popping up and i would like to know if it is genuine, aftermarket/dealership, or some chump just bought a load of stuff on eBay fitted it to the car and stating it's an original AMG?!

I understand that a decent history is prefered/desired, but sometimes it not always all available.

And finally - i've come across a few cars with contrasting piping in the seats - was this an option or other???

Many Thanks

Jon
