I'm not sure I agree with the following sentiment:

Seems to me that lists like these are well-suited for sharing both  
good and bad reports about vendors.  (I don't mean to comment upon  
whether any particular statement is defamatory.)  In this instance  
we've seen that a negative report about Jonathan was immediately met  
by multiple very positive comments.  Seems clear that one guy had  
what he considers to be a bad experience while many people have had  
good to extremely good experiences.

On the basis of that, I'd suspect that while Jonathan may not be  
perfect, he's a pretty reliable vendor in the opinions of most of  
those who deal with him.  That's good enough for me.
