[W126 Coupe] Transmission Problem??

If it starts to lurch under heavy acceleration, it sounds like slipping plates.  When you stop on an uphill slope in Drive, do you free roll backwards like you're in neutral unless you raise RPM's?

My 88 560 SEC runs great but has one problem.  When I "floor" the car to pass while driving at highway speed, it shutters and jerks...when I slow down everything returns to normal.  If I speed up slowly to this same passing speed, everything is fine.  Is this an internal transmission problem or could it be something else???
