I know nothing, so the following is a guess: I suspect that they use
the phrase "octane effect" b/c the stuff isn't really increasing
octane in the fuel but the claimed benefits of using the additive act
"as if" the octane had been increased by "ten points." If I'm
correct, then the correct math equation(s) is not about how many
octane must be contained in a 6 oz bottle to increase 30 gallons by
10 points, but rather how many additional octane "points" would be
required to produce the additional gas mileage that this stuff is
producing per tankful (assuming such add'l performance is actually
being produced.)
It claims to lubricate the top end, clean injectors, etc. So,
(assuming the claims are accurate) maybe it's just making the engine
more efficient rather than increasing the octane content of the fuel.
