Nah, I bought it broken, I was after a good shell.
I was looking for a project, and I'm NOT overly inclined to body work.
Wrenching is absolutely fine, though. I like digging into an engine
just to keep my hands and mind busy.
I didn't suspect that the engine was /this/ badly broken though, and was
in progress of getting ready to pull the cams and bearings to haul them
to a local cam grinder to have them brought back up to spec when I found
the carnage.
That makes sense about how it could have happened to have that pattern
of damage and indications of overheating, though.
I was scratching my head on how it ended up with overheating, oil
starvation signs, as well as the hopped timing that apparently killed
the left bank!
