Gentlemen based in the uk.

I have a 500 SEC that I no longer require. It has a few problem but also a lot of new pieces that may be of use to another owner.

Pls email me if you are interested and then we could discuss it on the phone.

Regards

Patrick

Hi Soy, I live in Manhattan and when I need service I always go to Bells Mercedes Service in Paramus NJ. 201-652-8197 They only do Mecedes and are trustworthy.

Alex,

Thank you very much for your help.

I'll find the torx wrench based on your specifications. Your suggestion to wait 30 minutes from battery disconnection is a new one(compared to the MB car manual) but it makes sense to do it in order to ensure that the airbag does not blow up unnecessarily.

On the mechanic/shop question, is there anyone out there who can help me? Thanks.

Best regards,

The tool you need to remove the airbag is a Torx bit. The size is T-30 and get a long one so that it can reach the heads which sit fairly deep in the steering wheel.

Also, make sure you extend the steering wheel to have more space behind the steering wheel to work with.

To avoid any risk of blowing the airbag while you're working on it, I'd recommend disconnecting the battery half an hour before you start removing the airbag.Regards, Axel J.
