[W126 Coupe] Door lock cable

Remove the inner door panel.  The door handle operates a rod to the latch mechanism, not a cable, and the handle assembly is a casting that is known to break.  Not dificult to replace.

My car loves me too much and doesn't want me to leave.  The driver's side inside door lock handle does not open the door any more.  I have to lower the window and use the outside handle.  There is now no resistance on the inside handle, so I assume that a cable has either broken or become detached.  How do I fix the problem?
