The tool you need to remove the airbag is a Torx bit. The size is T-30 and get a long one so that it can reach the heads which sit fairly deep in the steering wheel.

Also, make sure you extend the steering wheel to have more space behind the steering wheel to work with.

To avoid any risk of blowing the airbag while you're working on it, I'd recommend disconnecting the battery half an hour before you start removing the airbag.Regards, Axel J.
