[W126 Coupe] How to remove airgbag steering wheel

 Mike, Thank you.? Is there a special way to remove the airbag cover/pad on the steering wheel other than yanking it off?

Remove the floor mat from the passenger footwell, 
remove the plastic cover (10mm sheet metal nut) then pull the red lead out of 
the electronics module. THEN pull the airbag.

What is the proper way to remove an airbag equipped 
  steering wheel? Disconnecting the battery probably is the first step.
