I'm not absolutely sure on this, but I could have sworn that my hood on 
my SD has adjustment notches on the hinge, where the springs attach. 
I've also heard others talk about adjusting the spring position on the 
trunk lids, to compensate for adding a wing/lip spoiler (or a steel lid, 
I would assume).

I'm going to be checking this out as soon as I can remember to check, as 
my SEC's trunk lid is trying to function as a catapult if I don't catch 
it when I unlock it!
