Am posting this again because someone has a cracked wheel. Mine are 3 piece AMG's but I think they are a fairly old pattern. Jack OZ

I have that type of wheel on my car. One has 3 cracks visible from outside the car. Inspection showed that the cracks were limited to the very thin- walled part of the wheel centre, & did not penetrate into the thick inner part. This meant that the cracks were  cosmetic only & did not weaken the wheel structurally, although they look bad. That part of the wheel is very weak & can crack with a bump against a kerb.
It was reasoned that the tapered flange on the wheel bolts could possibly impose spreading stress on the cracks & cause them to extend into the thicker part of the hub. To eliminate this, the bottom of the holes in the hub were machined flat & deepend a little to take pressed -in steel inserts.The inserts have a flat inner face to sit on the flattened base of the holes & the outer faces of the inserts iare machined to a taper to suit the taper of the wheel bolt. This set up eliminates the spreading pressure of the bolts on the wheel & transfers it to the steel inserts which cannot fall out.
I have been running this front wheel with this mod. for a couple of years at all speeds & cornering with no further cracking. It is regularly inspected. I found it impossible to get a replacement wheel or part thereof, & would have had to replace all 4 wheels if I had to scrap 1.         Jack OZ

          There must be somebody that can help 
          I'll even buy a hole set of 4 if they are all good ....
