Markus, Thanks this was very helpful.

Most clocks have problems with the capacitor(s) failing over time. They can
be redone or you can find another module or send it out to get fixed.
Here's a link to fixing the clock yourself (courtesy of Dick Spellman and
Steve Nervig):

Not sure about the door. I'd take the panel off and see what is going on,
to make sure the window regulator isn't broken, the plastic piece isn't
broken, etc.

What is the major cause of my clock not working in a 1987 126?
Also my driver's window started making a knocking sound and then stopped
going down. For some reason if I open the door it works a little better???
Thanks,

I had an interesting ebay experience last year. I needed a speedo cluster
for a 300SEL. I found a complete cluster for a good deal. I specifically
asked if all gauges worked, especially the clock. They said they all
worked, so I put in an offer which they surprisingly accepted (less than buy
it now offer). Got it, installed, it, clock worked for 5 minutes then
stopped. Hm, that's familiar. I got several 126's and know this is a
common problem which is why I asked. So I let them know and they said I
could send it back but had to pay shipping myself! Now why the hell would I
pay $20 to ship back a $30 item and have nothing left over? At least I
could use the speedo part which is all I needed anyway. So I left negative
feedback, and guess what they did? Said I broke the clock myself trying to
take the cluster apart...d'uh, I installed it first and found it not
working, then took the speedo cluste r out and mounted it in my original
cluster. Oh well...I ebay and paypal were zero help either. Really sucks
because it appears a seller can outright lie then later say they'll take it
back but you have to pay to return it at your cost....so much for their
dispute section that has something to do with item not as significantly
described.

Thanks for the heads-up.
eBay is such a gamble. Whatever I bid on, I take an eBay deduction to
account for the risk that the buyer will not follow through, or that the
item will be much different from the advertisement.

I make a big mistake by buying Brake calipers from a guy on e-bay. When I
received them all of the bleed screws were bent one broken off inside the
caliper. When I e-mailed the seller he told me to go to an auto parts store
and buy them. Also the rear calipers are not the same both AT E and have
the number 38 on them but are a different shape on one side will they still
work ok?. I e-mailed the seller back and asked him to send me new bleed
screws or money to pay for new ones. The seller told me to shove the
Calipers up my ______ and to go f_____ myself. And then he left negative
feedback and I quote "TRI ED TO EXTORT MONEY; G OT SHUT DOWN; GET OFF EBAY,
THIEF and - think twice before buying from this user: items arrived BROKEN
and FOUL SMELLING DEMANDED $25;;; " I do not understand the second one
because I was the buyer but anyway.
So my friends stay far away from this guy
