[W126 Coupe] trunk lock

>From what you say, the vacuum pump controlling all locks is inoperative for whatever reason. Plus when this occurred the trunk was locked so it will not unlock. And, of course, the inoperative pump is in the trunk. I am assuming this because (a) the door locks do not open/lock anything and when you turn any of the locks you do NOT hear any sounds from the trunk. You should hear some whirring plus the mechanical locking mechanisms working. Is your gas door locked also? I am waiting to hear from a friend who had the same situation and got into the trunk. He says the problem is not limited to the pin, it's the actuator for the push button itself and the only way to release it is from inside the trunkitself. I hope to have that answer within half an hour for comments from everybody. -Bellamy
