[W126 Coupe] trunk lock

Do both doors unlock when you unlock one or the other?
Because the trunk should unlock too.
If the doors do and the trunk doesn't, I'd think there is something
interfering with the pneumatic to lock barrel linkage. (that's the rod at
the bottom of figs3-5)
That rod should move freely from left to right, independent of the key, by
the vacuum actuator of the central locking system.
The key also moves that rod left to right when turned.
Maybe try giving the area of the rear license plate a few raps with you hand
to hopefully shake it loose..

Thanks for the help But the lock is in the 12 0`clock position and will not
turn and trunk is locked. Could it be a wiring problem

K,
The trunk lock has a dual locking system. In addition to the button latch,
there is a bolt style lock that is normally engaged by turning the key to
the 3 o'clock position and removing the key. The trunk can not be unlocked
with the valet key.
The problem that can happen, is the bolt linkage pops off and allows the
bolt to float around, it slides into a lock position and you can't unlock
it.

Hope this helps.
