Thank you Axel,
The clicking sound that indicates the canceling tabs have been engaged
is no longer there. That's why I was wondering if it wore out. I hope I
don't have to tae apart the steering column.

Can you hear the release catch click when you turn the steering wheel?
It sounds like it is worn, or gunked up, and, unfortunately, there are
no serviceable parts in the stalk mechanism (I took an old one apart
for fun....).
Replacement stalk from Jonathan is about $150, but it's a bit of work
to put the new part in as you have to remove the steering wheel, the
knee bolster and it helps if the instrument cluster is out as well.

For some reason suddenly my turn signals won't cancel left or right.
The usual sound when the steering wheel is beyond the cancellation
limit isn't there anymore. Does this mean it is worn out?
Thanks you
