Hello, I hope evreyone had a great Thanksgiving. I am new to your site
but have had a few Mercedes in my life including a fairly new
acquisition, a '91 560SEC.

After a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at our in-laws in Newport Beach,
we headed home on the 405 towards L.A. While cruising in the HOV lane
at 80mph we experienced a sudden loss of forward motion like the car
was braking itself for a moment, then it resumed like nothing happened.
Then it did this again a short while later then again after that but
this time like I had stepped on the brake. Since my speed reduced from
80mph to about 55mph, the cars behind us were coming up real fast, so
we illegally changed lanes out of the HOV and went all the way to the
slow lane. Now at around 65mph, this never occurred again.

I was not using the cruise control and I did not have a drink tonight
because I knew the CHP was out in force. I do not believe it is
electrical because the lights did not weaken during this happening so
it must be a fuel delivery or computer problem. I hope it could be just
the fuel filter or clogged injection nozzles or dreaded fuel
distributor. What's your guess? and thanks for the help.
