Thanks for the response, I mostly listen to talk radio, but my speakers are static laden, and it's distracting. I hadn't planned to switch out the head unit nor the amps.
I have satellite radio and it's more than adequate. A friend told me to beware of the on-board computer and installation interface compatibility.

Are you just changing speakers or are you going to swap out head units/amps etc? If just speakers it's not worth spending much $$..the sound coming from the standard head unit/factory amps is so-so @ best in which case high end speaker componentry would be a waste.
However, if you are going to re-do the whole system (as it should/needs to be if truly hi-fi sound is what you are after) then there are a number of good speakers available.
