[W126 Coupe] Fw: broken glove box door latch

Rich,

Glad I could help. I am usually not so sure a car is worth keeping and repairing as I am with the SEC's, but they usually are and the repairs are usually so easy when at first they seem complicated. This forum is most helpful with just about anything and there is a brother or sister here with answers if you've got questions. I was glad to be able to contribute something after always asking for help.

Take care

John Conley

Very easy. Off tomorrow to the local MB bone yard for replacement parts.

Richard,

Remove the screws that hold the inner panel and wood trim on the glove box door and then you will see all of the lock mechanism and which pieces need to be replaced. It is very easy to replace and can be done in minutes.

Good Luck,

John

Hello All,

The beveled pot metal latch that hooks to the vertical pin to keep the door closed broke yesterday. Anyone know how the door disassembles so as to replace this piece?

Thanks,

Rich Jaffe
