Hi Alec

I moved from Europe (UK and before that Sweden) to South Africa, Cape Town,
I am now on my fifth SEC, though the previous ones was only a few months or
max a year old when I bought them. In general prices for other things than
cars are about 30% cheaper in South Africa then in any other European
country, when it comes to petrol, it is 50% cheaper, the average price for
petrol in Europe is currently about R13, and we pay about R6.

There is a white 500 SEC 1984, here in Cape Town, it is a wreck, 225.000 km,
and it can be bought for R20.000. (USD 3.000)

Mine 560 SEC 1989, is in mint condition, one previous owner, 145.000 km and
full service history, every 10.000 km with MB dealer, the asking price was
R140.000, but after a few months in the shop I got it for R105.000, (USD
14.000), The year I had the car I have driven 15.000 km, little bit too
much, and I will use the other cars more frequently instead.

South Africa is one of the best places in the world to live, and I have
spent time in most European Countries, (4 years in UK, London and Norwich,
many months in South of France) Florida, Bahamas, and Bermuda. Crime is
every where; poor people are all over the world.

Kent

560 SEC 1989
