Subject: [W126 Coupe] 560SEC test drive

Test driving an 89 560SEC tomorrow for the second time, and will hand over
cash if all is well.

Selector: During the first test drive, the selector was a little stiff,
certainly more so that my current 500SEC whose selector is very light
indeed. Reading through the archives, I see that Dick Spellman experienced
the same problem and applied some lube the the selector to eradicate the
problem. I hope that's all it is and not a sign of worse to come with the
transmission itself. The car has done 97500 miles and has only done 10000
miles in the last three years. It's owned by a retired solicitor who bought
it in 1990. Smoke silver with mushroom leather, all standard and original
(inc Becker Mexico radio cassette).

Rear diff: The rear diff looks a bit oily... I guess this is a leaky gasket
or loose diff nut?

Btw, it left the factory without a the cat so delivers a full 300hp as the
good Lord intended (owners manual says 220kw).
