[W126 Coupe] chrome

Cord - The "chrome" is actually polished aluminum with a clear coat. The
only chrome is on the bumpers. After getting ridiculous replacement prices
from the local MB dealership I searched the internet for days and only found
one firm that restores the trim for a very reasonable price, about $15 per

My chrome is badley oxidized, any way to clear it up, or do i have to
replace? I have a 87 560 sec.
