[W126 Coupe] Can anybody help me? (2 parts needed, South Africa)

Hello,

I need help with two part(s) for my 1990 560SEC (Euro) that I find
impossible to locate in
South Africa - even MB have failed, after months of trying, to get me
these.

The first is the wide chrome strip that sits on the lip of the trunk
- I destroyed mine by reversing into a stupid (low, black)
pole last year, and the only one MB was able to dig up for me (at
ridiculous cost) was bent in half as it
arrived in the box! Does anybody have this strip? And would be
willing to ship it to Johannesburg, South Africa?
(I'm happy to arrange courier/shipping, as long as it can be decently
boxed - I know it's an awkward shape)

The second: My car has the rear power sunblind option. I have not yet
taken it apart, but it does not rise/lower. It
moves smoothly by hand, and I can hear the motor turning, so I am
assuming it's the inner cable which the motor uses
to "push" the blind up, that's snapped. It should be el cheapo, but
MB here cannot provide that part, they can only
replace the entire blind unit (this is actually their advice! Even
though mine is perfect in all respects) and at something
like $900. All I want to do is fix the unit, I'm happy to pull it
apart myself (I've downloaded several guides from this
mailing list) but I at least want to have the part it's (in my mind)
90% likely to be.

Can anybody help me? I don't usually use MB at all, but this last
round of mishaps has suitably conveyed to me that,
over here, they do not at all care about drivers of their older cars.
Luckily, I *do* care about my car, and am adept at
most other assembly tasks (and I know a good MB mechanic) but I need
them parts!

kind regards,
Dawid Loubser
