[W126 Coupe] Kangaroo memories.

Hi SEC buddies,

My car is going through the final stages of the panel shop.

I can say that my insurance company (Shannon's) has been first class - not a
worry or concern.

All affected panels and parts have been replaced with either new or quality
used parts with a couple of small repairs.

The list price for a new bonnet from MB Australia is A$9400.00 (USD7200.00)
- one used (but almost flawless) was found for a quarter of this.

A new grille and a new panel below bumper - the kangaroo did some damage to
the below bumper panel but I will keep it in case someone in Oz needs it
(A$1600.00 new).

 

Now that the entire front of the vehicle is being brought back to new I have
to find something to crash into the rear to make it totally restored!

 

Planning to do the shock absorbers, rubber bushes, gear bow service, cam oil
spray bars, drive couplings when she returns. the void in my garage has been
so sad.

 

Moral of the message - choose your insurer wisely!
