Sounds like you have an intermittent short and if it becomes permanent it
will take approximately 16 amps of current to blow that fuse( twice the
circuit capacity) and by then your wiring, component or vehicle could be toast- an
expensive trip. An intermittent short can be difficult to trace and time
consuming but unless it is blowing the fuse right away, I would live with it by
replacing the fuse with the specified 8 amp. fuse when it blows.If the short
becomes permanent then it will be easier to find.
