[W126 Coupe] seat belt light

I was driving home today and the seat belt light flickered for just a second. What would cause that? Is there a sensor in the passenger seat that will warn me to have them put a seatbelt on? I had my bag sitting in that seat, so I don't know if that caused it. It has never done this to me before.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Tad
RKS:
The seatbelt light in the 560SEC that I drive ('87 euro) is between the sun visas and works by flashing for a fixed period of time - there are no physical connections to the seat belts.
Perhaps your car is just bored? Try taking her out to a nice dinner and movie...
Kind Regards
