Hey!  If it helps, I just came across an SEC for $895.  And you want $10,000???  haha
 
Of course it wasn't a 560.  It was a 380.  And the engine was, uh, well, not actually IN the car exactly.  In fact it was out back in the weeds.  Well, the block was anyway.  The heads were in the garden shed under the rat poison.  But the wheels were "Americana Chrome Racing Mags", 17" in pretty good shape, really.  They HAD been modified ever-so slightly so most of the the holes would match up perfectly with the Mercedes wheel boltholes, but the tires themselves were in perfect condition for retreading.  I'm sure a few short hours with a pressure washer would have transformed the interior pretty close to original condition once you replaced the original radio, which, unfortunately, had been stolen, sort of.  It seems that the thieves might have used a splitting maul to get it out... you know how difficult it is to get those damn things out.  So some of the stuff in the vicinity of where the radio used to be, needs some TLC also.  But pay attention: (this is appropriate at this very moment) I believe that the ignition module was there.  I didn't specifically look because I had no shovel handy.
 
So, you see?  You CAN get an SEC at a FRACTION of what you think yours is worth.
 
It all depends how fussy a person is.

Plus, they'll get that all day in Washington, DC "That's a real nice way to answer a question and I don't live in DC.I am trying to sell my 89 560 SEC that needs nothing and it is Pearlescent Black with a Black interior with 173,000 that has been meticulously maintained by Me/Be Service and myself. It has never been in an accident the bodyand the interior are clean. I had an ad in the local New York paper and I was offered $5,000.00 for it and I just put over 2 grand into the suspension.That is why I want to know where Bob can get over 10 grand so I can go there too.Jack
