[W126 Coupe] Engine Swap

Ok let's try this again a different way. Really all I am looking for is
a short block that will work with all my 500 components. There is a 560
long block core for sale on ebay that I was thinking of buying and
rebuilding the short block. I guess the question is the block compatible
with all my other components?

...and, not to be a further wet blanket, but...
Even assuming you go forward and successfully accomplish this swap, what
will you have? Either a very nice 85 Euro or a very nice 89 US (can't
tell which way you're going), but either way it'll have the wrong engine
and not be worth much. On the other hand, if you consider the current
value of the car(s) you currently have, sell that/those off, add the
money you would have spent on this project, and then take all of that
and go shopping, you'll surely find a very, very nice 91 560 SEC which
you can detail out to your heart's content. That'll be a much nicer end
result than a "bastardized" 500/560--85/89--Euro/US model. (IMHO)
Of course, what Satish did and what Mike Ramay is doing is a completely
different project altogether. Their end results are much nicer than a
high quality, stock or semi-stock 560 SEC.
Just my two cents, and almost worth every bit of that!

What Jonathan said! A friend had this done - '91 560SEC engine into an
84
500SEC by BergWerks in LA (now out of business). They got it done but

they would NEVER do another one. WAY too much changes needed to wiring,
computers, etc.
Fix the 500 engine, drop in an LS1, but unless you like the Marquis De
Sade, don't do the later model MB engine.

I am thinking a swapping my engine out of my 85 500SEC Euro with an 89
560SEC. How difficult a project is this and what would I need to change
to make the switch?
