[W126 Coupe] Tire pressure

I have both 16" wheels under my 1987 560 SEC and 1984 300SD.
SEC has Bridgestone H9 and the diesel Michelins. When the tire pressure was set at 30 lbs both cars were not driving straight. Both want to pull to the right.
The lining was checked and perfect.
I then started to experiment with the tire pressure. On the tires the maximum pressure was 44 lbs. I end up for both cars with 34 lbs in the front and 38 lbs in the rear.
I have the feeling I am driving two totally different cars now. Smooth and straight.
