[W126 Coupe] Clay's Nightmare 2

Hi Guy's
Well here's something that could help figure out my problem,when I put on the original fuel/dist.back on I missed tightening the fuel line that comes out of the top of unit that has a 12mm nut on line. I got into car and started it and it ran perfect except fuel was shooting out. then I tigened up line and car was the same as before, had to hold to floor to start and it started and reved up but died like it ran out of gas. Don't know what the line does,but maybe mechanic got a line pinched or something that controls pumps or pumps themselves are bad. Should I just put on 2 new pumps and see what happens? Maybe my battery drain is being caused by something that was done while changing that fuel filter, he mentioned fuel lines were starting to look dry. LOST IN A NIGHTMARE.
