[W126 Coupe] Rear Vent: Hot Air

According to the manual (and demonstrably so) the three large frontal
air vents on the
dashboard only blow either outside air, or cooled air (no hot air).
All the other
vents (including the two small side ones above the large frontal
ones) blow
either cooled or heated air, according to user temperature selection.

Are you saying your central (main) dashboard vent also blows hot air?
Can you
confirm this with your user manual? If so, they definitely did things
very
differently for US/Euro cars.

I've heard stories about the "no hot air through the main vents"
setup being
some kind of safety precaution (blasting the driver with direct hot
air might
make him more drowsy, etc).
