Did it do anything for power?
Do you know if the rear silencer is a straight through box?

If you are talking about the two resonators in the middle of the system, yes, I've done that. Mine goes from the cat to the rear muffler now with two straight pipes inbetween. It has a nice low throaty sort of growl on acceleration and sounds "normal" the rest of the time.

As the first step looking for more power I plan to modify the standard exhaust system for racing.
I don't care about noise levels so I thought of simply cutting out the 2 front transversely mounted silencers on my 500SEC and just leave only the rear silencer. Has anyone got some experience on this?
Remember we already don't have all the emission control crapola on our cars.
If I don't plan to change the exhaust manifolds is there any point in going bigger diameter pipes?
