I won't comment on the technical issues, but having ridden in and driven a
few of these (w220, w215, etc.) I would not want to buy a used one and at
200K miles I'd hate to think what the interiors would look like.
One thing; the new "sealed for life" transmissions, translates into new
transmission at 100K.

What do you all think of the 2003 S500? Are they reliable? Thinks to look
out for? Do you think a like new S500 purchased today, with proper
maintenance, would last another 10 years before becoming too expensive to
own? I have a friend who is looking at one. He'll be living in Colorado
(Denver area I think), assuming he uses snow tires will it be fine in the
snow, or should he look for a 4-matic? How is the 4-matic system? How much
of a trade off on performance is it?
