Katmac is a viable option, however I'm still curious/concerned as to what caused the rear to be so far out of alignment to begin with.

Is your car lowered? I don't remember you mentioning as much..

To be honest, the last set of Katmac's were disappointing quality/craftsmanship wise. I'm surprised the MB bushings cost so much there..they aren't nearly that expensive here.

Were I in your shoes I'd still have the car to a frame straightening shop just to make sure everything is kosher.

Here's my interim report:
parts arrived from K-Mac overnight in good condition;
Upon inspection, couldn't see the kind of flaws you mention;
Have booked the car in for fitting and alignment in the middle of next week;
The new shocks should arrive next week as well, so I'll be able to assess any problems free of known deficiencies eg the front left hand shock is leaking and softer than it should be etc.
