[W126 Coupe] Gear Selection Labels: Do they light up?

Yes, the last bulb I replaced was this spring on a '85 380SE. It was behind the climate control. I changed the bulbs having removed the climate control for repair. Looks to me that the pre-'86 models had a 59¢ bulb that took $75 in labour to replace. Never have experienced the post '86 but it sounds much better! Thanks.
