Unless you have original documentation, or something obvious like dohc heads or amg-branded exhaust, you will have a tough time.

Even the badges and plaques can be bought and stuck onto a non-authentic car.

For engine work, it's seat of the pants, dyno, or teardown and measurement.

How can you tell if a SEC, with the AMG Ground effects, wheels and  
suspension modifications, also has AMG cams and/or  other AMG engine/  trans, rear end, 
modifications? Will there be special sticker or code on  engine or any other 
indicators? thanks
