[W126 Coupe] fuel distributor adjustment

Hello all
 I have a 86 560 sec, and I am looking for info. about
adjusting the control piston basic position in the
fuel distributor, The repair manual just shows to
measure it before removal.
 I do not believe that the setting was correct to
begin with, as with many things I have found with this
car that was supposed to be well maintained.
 Any info would be most appreciated, Thanks again,
