[W126 Coupe] Mercedes stock shocks, HD or comfort?

I know there are quite a few running comforts out there and for the most
part they seem pleased.
I started w/ a set of comforts on my white coupe, didn't think the
improvement over my originals was all that stellar so I switched again to
HD's. My black coupe that I purchased from Jack came w/ comforts installed,
after switching to 17's all around I put the HD's in and the car rides
perfectly.

I'd say 90% of my clientele is running HD's and not one has come back w/ a
complaint or expressing any dis-satisfaction in taking that road.
Based on my conversations w/ a good family friend who deals/rebuild/sets up
Penske, Ohlins and Fox suspension, he explained it to me that you should aim
to match the spring and damping rates to the best of your ability..That
running to 'soft' a shock w/ a stiff spring will not work as optimally as a
shock w/ stiffer compression/quicker rebound.
Were Bilstein Sports or Koni Yellows available I would install those in our
cars but alas the most aggressive damping out there is the HD; as with all
things in life YMMV;-)
