[W126 Coupe] Question re distributor vacuum connection

I have three Mercedes 126's - an '81 500SE an '83 500SEC and an '87 560SEC

 

Each has a different vacuum setup on the distributor.  The distributor I
would like to understand has two vacuum leads into a device on the side of
the distributor - which is clearly for the ignition advance.

 

The question is - where should each of these connections go - do they both
go into the intake vacuum connection - or to different sources?
