[W126 Coupe] External temp sensor

Nope, got all the clips. The bumper didn't even get touched, except for
a scratch from the tailpipe, so the only reason the temp sensor was even
ever removed was to repaint the front bumper and fill in the indent from
the tailpipe...speaking of which, anybody know the paint code for the
bumpers? They had given me a vial of some of the bumper paint they made
so that I could touch up my rear bumper (20 years of being parallel
parked on DC streets had led to quite a few scratches on my bumpers),
but even though the front bumper that they sprayed matches the rear
perfectly, for some reason touching up the rear with the paint they made
doesn't match (I guess it's the difference between a brush and a spray
gun). Is there any official bumper touchup paint though (I have the
pre-86 grey bumpers).
Thanks,
Richard

Hi Richard:

The sensor wire lead just flows through the grate in the bumper and
hooks to the lower lip of the MB license plate frame so that the sensor
is shielded from road debris. Even with this additional spacing it will
pick up a degree or two in stop n go traffic from the pavement and the
condenser if you are running AC. Tie wrap the cable if you've lost the
one or two clips from the accident.
