So first Bosch drops the quality of their wires, then they abandon us. And they had that big recall issue over the braking system in the newer MB's. Oh how the mighty have fallen, and without needing a merger with an American company to do it. Is Porsche the only good German company left (an I'm sure there's some Bosch in there, like the ABS system)?

Yes, I'm Quite sure. That was last year..and quite a bit changes in the Mercedes world w/ in a year.
This took place about a month ago.
They are now WR9DC, i.e. they no longer make anything w/o the WR, R standing for Resistor.

At this point, NGK BP6 or 7ES would do fine. Also Beru makes a very nice
copper core plug, but they are hard to find:-/
I've tried Advance/Auto Zone for the plugs and all they have are resistor
NGK's..Napa should have the plugs you/we need @ this point.
